About This Product
A Natural Yirgacheffe with Unmatched Character
The washed coffees of Yirgacheffe have long been celebrated for their delicate, tea-like aromatics and clean citrus flavor. But in the highlands of the Gedio region, a quiet evolution is taking place. Producers are redefining tradition—reviving the natural process, first developed in Ethiopia, to reveal an entirely new side of this well-known origin.
The result? Misty Valley, a standout Natural Yirgacheffe that delivers fruit-forward complexity, floral depth, and a beautifully clean finish.
This offering—roasted in small batches by Kith + Kin Roasting Co. and featured by Unsung Roasters—is more than just a coffee. It’s a tribute to craftsmanship.
Carefully Developed by Visionary Producers
Created by exporter and producer partner Abdullah Bagersh, Misty Valley is a coffee that receives incredible care from start to finish. After harvest, ripe cherries are brought to the mill and dried on raised African beds. For the first 48 hours, they’re constantly turned—day and night—to ensure even evaporation and prevent mold or uneven air circulation.
Once dried, the cherries are fully hulled (skin, mucilage, and parchment removed), then sorted and traded through the Ethiopian Coffee Exchange as a Grade 1 Yirgacheffe.
This painstaking process is what gives Misty Valley its legendary cup clarity and stability—something not often found in natural process coffees.
